Behind every guide published on this site stands a single byline: La rédaction Travel Advice — the Travel Advice editorial team, a small independent crew that writes, fact-checks and keeps every piece of content up to date.
Who is the Travel Advice editorial team?
Travel Advice is an independent, bilingual (French / English) online travel magazine. We are not a travel agency, a booking platform or a price comparator: we are an editorial team. A small group of travellers, writers and editors who share one conviction — a trip should be prepared the way you approach long-form reading, with attention, curiosity and the time needed to place each destination in its history, geography and culture.
We chose a collective byline. Every guide and article signed « La rédaction Travel Advice » is the result of team work: research, writing, cross-review and fact-checking before publication. That signature commits the whole newsroom, not a single author.
The team works in French first: each piece is researched, written and verified in its French version, then translated into English to the same standard, so readers of both languages get exactly the same information.
Our editorial method
Four principles drive everything we publish:
- On-the-ground research — our guides are built on first-hand travel experience and primary sources (tourism boards, carriers, local authorities, travellers on site), never on a mere compilation of other websites.
- Verified practical information — entry requirements, visas, budgets, transport, safety, health: every practical data point is checked against official sources before publication, then re-checked at each update.
- Regular updates — travel guides age quickly: prices, opening hours, entry rules and addresses change. We revisit our content regularly, and the last-updated date is displayed at the top of every article.
- No unlabelled sponsored placement — should a piece ever result from a partnership, an invitation or a press trip, it would be disclosed explicitly within the article. It is rare, and always flagged.
And when a mistake slips through despite these safeguards, we fix it as soon as it is reported. Being transparent about what we know — and what we don't know yet — is part of our pact with readers.

We favour depth over exhaustiveness: a good guide is not the one that lists everything, it's the one that helps you choose.
Editorial independence
Travel Advice sells nothing. We earn no commission on the hotels, flights or activities mentioned in our content, and no paid affiliate links hide behind our recommendations. Our content is produced without commercial agreements with the destinations, tourism boards or operators we cover. Our only editorial commitment is to our readers.
